Rackleys Barn, Chiltern Hills
Nestled deep in the heart of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Rackleys Barn is a venue that effortlessly combines historic charm with contemporary elegance. Once a working farm, Rackleys has been lovingly restored to become one of Buckinghamshire’s most sought-after wedding venues. With exposed oak beams, honey-coloured flint walls and panoramic countryside views, it provides the perfect canvas for a magical wedding day.
The venue boasts an impressive barn space with vaulted oak beams, soaring ceilings and acres of rolling fields and meadows. From start to finish, everything runs seamlessly, and a huge part of that is thanks to the incredible team behind the scenes.
Laura and Lucy were absolute stars on the day. Calm, kind and completely on it from the moment we arrived, they made sure every detail ran smoothly. Whether it was coordinating suppliers, timing confetti or just making everyone feel looked after, they were a joy to work with — a credit to Rackleys and a big part of what made the day feel so special.
Tom & Charlotte
Tom and Charlotte first got in touch back in July 2023, almost two years before their wedding — and I can’t stress this enough: it’s never too early to book your videographer or photographer! My diary is open two years in advance, and the earlier you reach out, the more likely your date will be available (plus you’ll avoid any future price increases). That said… even if your wedding is next week — don’t panic. If I’m free and it works with my editing queue, I’ll always do my best to make it happen.
Disney Soundtrack & Pure Magic
Tom and Charlotte are both huge Disney fans — and, full disclosure, so am I. It was an absolute pleasure hearing the Disney soundtrack woven through the day, creating an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and that signature sense of magic.
What struck me most, though, was their warmth. They’re both gentle souls who put everyone around them at ease. From our very first meeting to the final moments of their big day, they were an absolute joy to be around — kind, genuine, and so clearly in love.
Nanny & Granny – The Flower Girls
Let’s talk about two true stars of the day: Nanny and Granny. Charlotte and Tom organised a sweet little “reveal” moment for them before the ceremony, and their reactions were priceless — emotional, authentic, and completely unscripted. These are the moments I live for as a filmmaker.
To top it all off, Nanny and Granny were also the flower girls! Watching them walk down the aisle with pride and joy was incredibly heartwarming — the room lit up with smiles. A moment none of us will forget anytime soon.
Sunshine & Golden Hour
We were mid-heatwave in the UK, with temperatures climbing into the high 20s and low 30s. I even bought myself a new linen shirt to survive the day!
Thankfully, a soft breeze and a light cloud cover kept things feeling comfortable — without stealing the sun. Suzy (the photographer) and I did wonder whether the clouds would block golden hour… but they cleared just in time.
As the sun dipped, we had the most beautiful golden light over the meadows. Every time I work with Suzy, we seem to get the perfect golden hour. Not sure how it keeps happening — I don’t make the rules!
Sparklers at Sunset
We wrapped up with a sparkler tunnel in front of Rackleys’ fairy-lit pergola — the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Top tip: don’t wait until it’s fully dark. A sparkler tunnel just after sunset gives you better light on everyone’s faces while still keeping the sparkle. It makes a huge difference to your photos and film.
