Mixing and Mastering

Good mixing and mastering is not just about the technical skill and equipment that you have. It’s about the ability to portray the emotion that the creator is trying to portray to the listener. A good book will keep you enticed and absorbed in the journey as the story progresses through the chapters. A good song is very similar in the way that it needs to progress, lift, drop and change emotively. Before any mix is started, I will listen to the stems or rough mix a few times while also connecting with the client to understand the emotion and goal behind the song, to produce an end result that connects to the writer or producer as if it was an extension of their own creation.
